Frankenstein Unbound
Classic terror is now state-of-the-art shock.
Synopsis
Frankenstein Unbound (1990) is Roger Corman's science-fiction horror film you can watch online on iFILM. A scientist in 2031 tests a superweapon that tears holes in time, and the malfunction flings him and his car back to Switzerland in 1817.
There Joe Buchanan runs into Dr. Victor Frankenstein and learns the creature from the legend is flesh and blood. He also crosses paths with a young Mary Shelley, busy writing the very novel about a maker and his monster. Corman collides 21st-century sci-fi with 19th-century gothic dread, stranding his hero between two obsessed inventors, each certain he's in the right.
This was Corman's final outing as a director, the low-budget genre king adapting a Brian Aldiss novel. John Hurt leads, with Raúl Juliá as Frankenstein and Bridget Fonda along for the ride. It'll click with fans of scrappy early-'90s sci-fi and fresh spins on classic horror. Stream Frankenstein Unbound (1990) online on iFILM.
