Synopsis
Forte (2020) is a French comedy directed by Katia Lewkowicz — watch it online on iFILM. Nour is the accountant at a Parisian fitness centre: dependable, warmly liked, and privately at war with her own reflection. She has a good life. She just hasn't figured out how to want things for herself yet.
She stumbles across a pole dancing class at work and does not sign up. The instructor notices her watching and offers private lessons — no audience, no mirrors that matter. Melha Bedia plays Nour without turning her into an inspirational arc: the confidence builds through small, uncomfortable choices rather than a third-act breakthrough speech. Valérie Lemercier plays the teacher; Adèle Exarchopoulos appears in a supporting role; Jonathan Cohen and Ramzy Bedia round out the ensemble.
This is less a film about body image and more one about permission — giving yourself some. Lighter in tone than its premise suggests, and more precise about its subject than most comedies that take it on. Stream Forte (2020) on iFILM.
