Synopsis
Shot along the Spanish coast, Nico and Dani (Krámpack, 2000) is a coming-of-age comedy you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Cesc Gay. Sixteen-year-old Dani has the beach house to himself for the summer; his best friend Nico arrives, loud and girl-obsessed, and things feel exactly the same as always — until they don't.
Nico wants girls. Dani wants Nico. Neither says this out loud. Things grow more complicated when Julián shows up — an older, openly gay writer and friend of Dani's father — and makes certain questions impossible to keep dodging. Gay's screenplay picked up the Goya Award for Best Adapted Script, and the film holds up as one of the more honest Spanish coming-of-age stories of the early 2000s. Unhurried, sun-lit, and specific about its characters. Stream Nico and Dani on iFILM.
