Synopsis
Three Seconds (2017) is a Russian sports drama you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Anton Megerdichev and starring Vladimir Mashkov, it reconstructs the closing minutes of the 1972 Munich Olympics basketball game — the moment that split world sport into before and after.
For 36 years American athletes had taken every Olympic basketball gold without exception. Soviet players reached the Munich final as heavy underdogs. What followed in the last three seconds — the horn, the reset clock, the second reset — remains the most disputed finish in Olympic basketball history. Team USA voted unanimously to refuse the silver and left their medals unclaimed. They still haven't taken them.
Mashkov plays head coach Vladimir Kondrashin, who assembled players from across the Soviet republics and built the one team that actually believed it could win.
