Synopsis
Black Butler: Book of the Atlantic (2017) is a feature-length anime based on Yana Toboso's manga that you can watch online on iFILM. Young Earl Ciel Phantomhive and his demon butler Sebastian pick up the trail of a secret cult, the Aurora Society, rumored to have found a way to bring the dead back to life.
The group's next gathering is set aboard the Campania, a lavish ocean liner crossing the Atlantic — a ship modeled closely on the Titanic. Sebastian slips aboard disguised as crew, made all the more awkward because Ciel's fiancée Elizabeth has booked the same voyage. Out on open water, the glittering cruise turns into a nightmare: reanimated corpses spill across the decks, and survival comes down to whether Sebastian's demonic contract can outmatch someone else's necromancy.
Director Noriyuki Abe adapts the celebrated Campania arc, one of the darkest and most spectacular stretches of the source material, with its trademark mix of Victorian gothic, gallows humor and tightly choreographed action. The film plays best for viewers who already know the series, though it stands on its own as a grim seafaring tale. Stream Black Butler: Book of the Atlantic (2017) online on iFILM.
