Synopsis
"Camille" (2019) — watch online on iFILM — is a French war drama directed by Boris Lojkine, based on the life of photojournalist Camille Lepage.
Camille is twenty-six and headed to the Central African Republic — a conflict getting almost no Western coverage. She moves through checkpoints and makeshift camps with her camera, pulling portraits from a war most editors weren't buying. Nina Meurisse plays her without martyrdom: the character is driven, occasionally reckless, never self-mythologizing. Lojkine shoots it close to documentary, keeping staging out of the way.
Camille Lepage was shot and killed in CAR in May 2014. The film doesn't announce that from the opening — which is the right call. When the ending arrives, it lands. Stream "Camille" (2019) online on iFILM.
