Bahar commands the Daughters of the Sun, an all-female Kurdish battalion on the verge of retaking a city held by ISIS. She knows the city. She was held there in chains until she escaped. French war correspondent Mathilde has arrived to cover the offensive — and finds, behind the tactical briefings, a woman carrying everything that happened before the first frame.
