White Dog

White Dog (1982) is Samuel Fuller's unflinching drama based on Romain Gary's novel — watch it online on iFILM. A young actress named Julie picks up a stray German shepherd on the road. The dog seems gentle, loyal, easy to love. Then she discovers the truth: someone trained it to attack Black people on sight.

Julie brings the dog to an animal trainer named Keys — who happens to be Black — and asks him to undo the conditioning. Every session becomes a physical gamble. Fuller doesn't editorialize; he lets the situation speak, and what it says about learned hatred and the limits of rehabilitation sits with you long after the credits.
