Synopsis
"Follow the Fleet" (1936), watch online on iFILM — a musical comedy from RKO Pictures with Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, directed by Mark Sandrich.
Sailors Bake Baker and Bilge Smith get shore leave in San Francisco. Bake tracks down his old dance partner Sherry Martin; Bilge immediately sets his sights on her quieter sister Connie. The problem is that Bake has a talent for costing Sherry her jobs the moment he turns up, and Bilge has no intention of settling down no matter how hard Connie hints. Songs by Irving Berlin — "Let Yourself Go," "I'm Putting All My Eggs in One Basket" — keep things moving briskly. The sixth Astaire–Rogers pairing at RKO, choreographed by Hermes Pan, and the ease they'd built by this point shows in every number. Stream Follow the Fleet (1936) online on iFILM.
