Synopsis
Maybe Baby (2023), titled Bytte bytte baby in Danish, is a comedy you can watch online on iFILM. The setup is gloriously absurd: a fertility clinic mixes up the embryos of two pregnant women.
The catch is that these two can't stand each other. One is loose and chaotic; the other runs her life on spreadsheets and schedules. Now they're carrying babies that aren't biologically theirs and somehow have to share a future between four adults. Mille Dinesen and the cast mine the awkwardness for collisions and unexpected tenderness alike.
Director Barbara Topsøe-Rothenborg keeps it light without making it hollow — under the jokes sits a real question about what actually makes a family.
