After weeks of so-called treatment, she wakes with no memory of who she is or why she came, and the institution she set out to investigate becomes the cage she can't argue her way out of. Judith Light plays the head nurse whose quiet authority is scarier than any locked door, alongside Joshua Bowman and Anja Savcic.
Director Karen Moncrieff keeps it tight and airless, circling the question of how easily a sane woman can be erased once someone decides she's mad. Ricci carries the whole thing, balancing performance against a real unraveling. A good pick if you like grim period thrillers drawn from true events.
