Synopsis
"Ten Little Indians" (1987), directed by Stanislav Govorukhin, is a Soviet adaptation of Agatha Christie you can watch online on iFILM. Ten strangers accept anonymous invitations to a remote island — and their host never shows up.
Every guest carries old blood on their hands, crimes the law never caught. A gramophone greets them with their individual verdicts. In each bedroom hangs the same children's rhyme about ten little figures — and ten ceramic statuettes stand on the mantelpiece. The first death comes that night. One figure disappears. The cast draws from the top tier of Soviet cinema: Vladimir Zeldin, Tatiana Drubich, Alexander Abdulov, and Alexander Kaydanovsky.
Govorukhin's adaptation follows Christie's plot with uncommon fidelity — no Soviet-era reframing, no adjusted ending. For admirers of the locked-room genre, the original solution lands intact. Stream "Ten Little Indians" online on iFILM.
