Synopsis
Modern Life Is Rubbish (2018) is a British music-driven romance you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Daniel Jerome Gill and starring Freya Mavor and Josh Whitehouse, it follows Natalie and Liam, a couple of ten years now splitting a flat and the record collection they built together.
Music brought them together, and music refuses to let them part cleanly. Every CD and vinyl on the shared shelf is tied to a specific night, an argument, a first kiss, which makes dividing the library harder than dividing the rest of their lives. Liam keeps chasing the dream of his own band while Natalie grows up faster and wants something else. The film cuts between the painful present and flashbacks of their romance, each scene hung on a song they once loved.
This one is for people who measure relationships by their soundtrack and remember which album was playing when it all began. No marquee names, just an honest, faintly bittersweet look at growing up together and apart. Stream Modern Life Is Rubbish online on iFILM.
