Music from Another Room

Danny's pursuit pulls him into every branch of the eccentric Swan family: a sheltered blind sister, a wisecracking older sibling, and a high-strung mother played by Brenda Blethyn. Jeremy Piven is the fiancé — reasonable, handsome, and completely blameless except for existing at the wrong moment. Law's early charm carries the whole engine here, and the film is cheerfully aware you can see the ending coming. The pleasure is in getting there.
