Eleven celebrity-professional pairs stepped onto the ballroom floor each Monday; Tuesday brought the results. A first-week grace period meant all eleven couples performed both Latin and Standard styles before a single viewer vote was cast. By the finale, judges Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli, and Carrie Ann Inaba had handed out 15 perfect scores — more than any previous season. Season 4 raised the bar before anyone realized it had moved.
