In My Skin (2018) is a British comedy-drama series you can watch online on iFILM. Sixteen-year-old Bethan from Wales has her story straight for everyone at school: normal parents, normal home, nothing to see here. It is a complete lie.

Her mother is in a psychiatric unit. Her father drinks through the day. Bethan runs two versions of her life in parallel — the one she performs for her friends, and the one she goes home to. Gabrielle Creevy carries the whole thing as Bethan, with Lucy Forbes directing. What makes the series land is how it refuses to play the hardship purely for sympathy — the comedy and the devastation sit right next to each other, which is exactly how it feels at sixteen.
