Maria Trifonova is a teacher from another era: no phones, no excuses, no noise. When she's transferred to an elite private school — the one her 16-year-old granddaughter happens to attend — she walks into a world built on opposite principles. No grades, no punishment, no authority anyone has bothered to enforce; just tablets, flexible learning, and students who have never once been told to sit down and be quiet. Getting them to engage with mathematics turns out to be the manageable part. Navigating her relationship with her own family while adjusting to a staff that finds her methods alarming is something else.
