Georgians in the Sky

Georgians in the Sky (1984) is a Soviet-Georgian fantasy comedy you can watch online on iFILM. A passenger flight stalls in the clouds, trapped by a force that has nothing to do with the weather, and an ordinary trip turns into a test for everyone aboard.

A strange visitor appears among the travelers. He offers to save each of them — one at a time, in exchange for a confession of their sins. Panic does the rest, stripping the polite surface off the passengers and showing who they really are. They refuse his bargain and look for a way out together. The cast includes Sofiko Chiaureli, Kakhi Kavsadze and Gia Badridze.

Directed by Omar Gvasalia, this brisk 71-minute television film works as a parable: put people in a corner and their true nature shows faster than any interrogation.
