"The General's Men" (Il nostro generale, 2023) is an Italian crime drama you can watch online on iFILM. The 1970s in Italy: far-left and far-right terrorism was tearing the country apart during what historians call the "years of lead." Carlo Alberto Dalla Chiesa decided waiting was not an option.

Sergio Castellitto plays Dalla Chiesa, the Carabinieri officer who built a dedicated anti-terrorism unit from scratch when official channels were stalled by politics and fear. The young recruits around him learn the job in real conditions, with real consequences — and the series stays close to that unglamorous ground level rather than reaching for heroics.

Directors Lucio Pellegrini and Andrea Jublin ground the story in the actual Dalla Chiesa, who was later killed by the Mafia in Palermo in 1982 after shifting his attention to organized crime.
