The police write it off as the weather: he got trapped as the levels rose. But local PC Joanna Marshall can't let it go. She's heavily pregnant and should be taking it easy, yet she keeps pulling threads that lead toward property developers, buried debts and people who'd much rather the dead man stayed nameless. The deeper Joanna digs, the clearer it becomes that the flood washed away someone's tracks a little too neatly.
