Synopsis
The Legacy (Arvingerne, 2014) is a Danish family drama from broadcaster DR that you can watch online on iFILM. When celebrated artist Veronika Grønnegaard dies at her estate on the island of Funen, she leaves behind four adult children and a will that nobody expected.
The estate goes not to any of the four but to Signe — a daughter Veronika gave up for adoption decades earlier and never kept in contact with. Suddenly strangers and estranged siblings are forced to share the same grief, the same property, and the same table. Three seasons, and the knots get tighter with each one.
DR built its reputation on precise, unhurried character drama — The Killing, Borgen — and The Legacy fits that template without copying it.
