The Long, Long Holiday (Les Grandes Grandes Vacances, 2015) is a French animated series you can watch online on iFILM. September 1939: brother and sister Ernest and Colette arrive at their grandparents' house in the Normandy village of Grangeville for a short summer visit. That autumn upends everything — their father is called to the front, and their mother must leave for a sanatorium in Switzerland to be treated for tuberculosis.

What was supposed to be two weeks stretches into years. Director Paul Leluc made an animated series for children that doesn't soften wartime reality: food shortages, curfews, the local Resistance — all seen through the eyes of two young Parisians slowly learning what it means to build a life in a village that was never supposed to be theirs.
