Synopsis
Arde Madrid (2018) is a Spanish comedy series you can watch online on iFILM. Director and co-star Paco León sets the action in 1961 Madrid, where Ava Gardner — played by Debi Mazar — drinks freely, brings men home, and throws gypsy parties while the Franco dictatorship fumes outside.
One floor below, exiled Argentinian general Juan Perón and his wife Isabel are grinding through a joyless exile. The government, busy purging "communist influences" from early-1960s Spain, decides to keep an eye on the famous American. Two undercover agents move in as married servants: Manolo, a street-smart operator played by León himself, and Ana Mari (Inma Cuesta) — a devout, lame Francoist from the Sección Femenina who is completely unprepared for what she is about to witness.
