Veselchak U

Veselchak U is set to watch online on iFILM as a 2027 sci-fi adventure spun off from Kir Bulychev's universe — the same one that gave the world Alice Selezneva and Guest from the Future. Director Alexander Andryushchenko builds this one around the space pirate who used to terrorize an entire era.

Veselchak U got stranded on present-day Earth after a run-in with Alice, her mother, and a group of Moscow schoolkids, and now he wants exactly one thing: seize Cosmion, get back to his own century, and finally take charge of the Pirate Alliance. Hunting for an ancient artifact drags him toward a boy named Yura and his mother Katya, both mysteriously tied to Cosmion. When the formidable warrior Theo comes after them, the pirate ends up defending two strangers — turns out even a career criminal can have a code.

The cast brings together Alexander Petrov, Anastasia Talyzina, Miron Provorov, Yulia Peresild, Nikita Efremov and Alyona Mikhailova, and the film leans on a rare balance for Russian sci-fi: nostalgia for the old Soviet source material works here as an engine, not a museum piece.
