Synopsis
Mackenna's Gold (1969) is a sprawling American Western you can watch online on iFILM, directed by J. Lee Thompson. Gregory Peck plays Marshal Mackenna — a straight-shooting lawman who kills an old Apache chief in a chance skirmish and finds a hand-drawn map to the legendary Canyon del Oro. He burns it immediately. The problem is, he's already read it.
Omar Sharif's outlaw Colorado takes Mackenna at gunpoint and forces him west as a human compass. A motley convoy of gold-hungry civilians tags along — including characters played by Telly Savalas, Lee J. Cobb, and Edward G. Robinson — while Apache warriors shadow the whole caravan from the ridgelines, letting greed do their work for them. The canyon promises everything and owes nobody.
