In 1964, director Michael Apted interviewed a group of seven year old children for the documentary "Seven Up". He's been back to film them every seven years. Now they are 42.
Synopsis
42 Up (1999) is a landmark documentary you can watch online on iFILM — the sixth round in Michael Apted's lifelong Up series. In 1964 he filmed fourteen British seven-year-olds drawn from working-class homes, the middle class, and elite boarding schools. Every seven years he comes back to ask what happened to the lives they described as children.
At forty-two, the patterns are hard to ignore. A few crossed the class lines that seemed fixed at age seven; others arrived almost exactly where the system pointed them.
