Soul Eater (Season 1)

Soul Eater (ソウルイーター, 2008) is a 51-episode anime series you can watch online on iFILM, produced by Bones and based on Atsushi Ohkubo's manga. The setting is the Death Weapon Meister Academy in Death City — where students don't study for tests, they hunt souls. Ninety-nine evil human souls and one witch soul, and your weapon partner earns the rank of Death Scythe.

Three pairs of students are working the quota in very different ways. Maka and Soul bring precision and control. Black Star and Tsubaki are held together mostly by Tsubaki's patience. Death the Kid and the Thompson sisters operate on obsessive symmetry — his, obviously. Between collecting souls and fighting off threats that the adults can't always handle, these kids are still teenagers: competitive, reckless, and loud about it.
