Synopsis
Meet the Barbarians (Les Barbares, 2024) is a French satirical comedy from Julie Delpy that you can watch online on iFILM. A small Breton village proudly votes to take in a Ukrainian refugee family — and a Syrian one shows up instead.
That's where the carefully rehearsed goodwill starts to wobble. The Fayad family turns out to be warm, cultured and well-read, dismantling every cliché the locals had ready. The village hums with gossip and second-guessing, until it's genuinely unclear who the barbarians are supposed to be. Delpy directs and takes a lead role, alongside Sandrine Kiberlain and Laurent Lafitte.
