Synopsis
Lolo (2015) is a French comedy you can watch online on iFILM, written and directed by Julie Delpy, who also stars. Her character Violette, a chic Parisian woman in the fashion world, meets the cheerfully unhip IT technician Jean-René (Dany Boon) during a holiday in the south of France. He follows her to Paris. That is where things stop being charming.
Violette has a nineteen-year-old son. Lolo (Vincent Lacoste) is polished, soft-spoken, and utterly dedicated to dismantling his mother's new relationship — spiking Jean-René's career, sabotaging his belongings, turning Parisian social life into a quiet minefield. Lacoste plays the role with such serene malice that every petty act of destruction lands as pure comedy.
Delpy keeps the film brisk and unsentimental, with no tidy resolution that lets everyone off the hook. It is a sharper comedy than the premise suggests — part culture-clash farce, part deadpan study of a mother who cannot quite see what her son really is. Watch Lolo (2015) online on iFILM.
