Synopsis
The Life Before Her Eyes (2007) is a psychological thriller directed by Vadim Perelman — watch it online on iFILM. Diana survived a school shooting fifteen years ago. She has a quiet life now — a husband, a daughter, a house in the suburbs. But as the anniversary of the attack approaches, the edges of that quiet life start to come apart.
The film moves between two timelines. In the past, teenage Diana (Evan Rachel Wood) and her best friend Maureen are vivid and careless, unaware of what's about to happen to them in a school bathroom. In the present, adult Diana (Uma Thurman) finds herself pulled back into that day over and over, unable to separate memory from guilt. Oscar Isaac appears in an early role as her husband.
Perelman, who directed House of Sand and Fog, structures the film as a closed loop — the two timelines mirror and distort each other, and the boundary between what Diana remembers and what she's reconstructed keeps shifting deliberately. The ending reframes everything before it. It's the kind of film that rewards a second viewing more than a first. Stream The Life Before Her Eyes online on iFILM.
