Synopsis
Man of the East (E poi lo chiamarono il magnifico, 1972) is a comedy western starring Terence Hill, ready to watch online on iFILM. A prim young Englishman named Joe travels to the Wild West to honor his dying father's wish: become a real man out here. The catch is that Joe hates guns and would rather ride a bicycle than a horse.
Three good-natured outlaws take charge of his education, more out of laziness than kindness, and their pupil is hopeless. His fancy manners turn him into the joke of the town. Things get harder when he falls for rancher Ohlsen's daughter — because Morton, a hulking brute, has already claimed her hand. Sooner or later Joe will have to either throw a punch or pack his bags.
Behind the camera is Enzo Barboni, the same director who made the Trinity films, and his fingerprints are everywhere: slapstick brawls, a slow-moving hero and plenty of fists with no blood in sight. Hill is charming in a new register here, playing a klutz rather than a gunslinger as he learns to fit in. Easygoing fun for anyone who likes Italian westerns light on pomp and lethal gunfire.
