Synopsis
A Bullet for the General (Quién sabe?, 1967) is a political spaghetti Western you can watch online on iFILM. Set during the Mexican Revolution, it drops you into a country where trains get robbed, guns change hands, and everyone is out for themselves.
El Chuncho (Gian Maria Volonté) leads a gang that loots army trains and sells the rifles on to the rebels. A polished young American, Bill Tate (Lou Castel), attaches himself to the outfit, and the rough riders warm to him. They shouldn't: the gold bullet the gringo carries as a charm isn't meant for any revolutionary general. Klaus Kinski plays his gun-toting preacher brother.
Damiano Damiani uses the gunfire as a wrapper for a sharper question — who really profits when poor men kill each other. Luis Bacalov's score had a hand from Ennio Morricone. One for fans of hard, unglossy Westerns with politics buried under the dust. Stream A Bullet for the General online on iFILM.
