Synopsis
Rob-B-Hood (寶貝計劃, 2006) is a Hong Kong action-comedy starring Jackie Chan, available to watch online on iFILM. Compulsive gambler Thongs is drowning in debt when a perfect job lands in his lap: snatch a baby from a wealthy family for a fat payday. The only catch is surviving the baby itself.
The kidnapping goes off without a hitch. Everything after — the diapers, the bottles, the wailing at 3 a.m. — does not. Two hardened thieves who fear lullabies more than their loan sharks slowly grow attached to the kid and start dreading the moment they have to hand him over. Louis Koo plays Thongs' partner in crime, and the babysitting is wrapped around Chan's trademark stunt work: a rooftop chase, a brawl with an infant in one arm, real acrobatics with no doubles.
Director Benny Chan lets the action give way to sentiment, and it pays off — by the finale you genuinely worry about where the child ends up.
