Synopsis
Sports Night (1998) is an ABC comedy-drama you can watch online on iFILM — Aaron Sorkin's first television series, written while he was also working on what became The West Wing.
The show is set inside a fictional cable sports network. Anchors Casey McCall (Josh Charles) and Dan Ritter (Peter Krause) deliver the nightly broadcast while producers, executives and assistants career around them. Executive producer Dana Whitaker (Felicity Huffman) holds the room together through sheer force of will; managing editor Isaac Jaffee (Robert Guillaume) provides cover from above. Two seasons, 45 episodes, almost no filler. The overlapping, rapid-fire dialogue Sorkin later took to The West Wing got its first real workout here, and it still sounds good.
