Synopsis
God Friended Me (2018) is a CBS drama-comedy series you can watch online on iFILM, starring Brandon Micheal Hall as Miles Finer — a self-described atheist podcaster and a preacher's son who wants nothing to do with religion. Then a Facebook account called "God" sends him a friend request, and things get complicated.
The account doesn't just add him. It starts suggesting people — strangers whose profiles pop up in his feed. Every time Miles ignores one, something goes wrong. Every time he follows through, someone's life quietly shifts. Journalist Cara Bloom (Violett Beane) and programmer Rakesh Gupta (Suraj Sharma) get pulled in alongside him, turning each episode into a small self-contained mystery about why this particular person needed help right now.
The show ran two seasons through 2020. It never commits to answering whether the account is actually divine — which is the right call. The premise could easily tip into saccharine territory, but the case-of-the-week structure keeps things grounded, and Hall carries it with enough dry skepticism that the show works whether you read it as faith or coincidence.
