Synopsis
Three Floors (Tre Piani, 2021) is an Italian drama directed by Nanni Moretti — watch it online on iFILM. One apartment building in a comfortable Roman neighbourhood, three floors, three families. A car accident on the ground level. A young woman unraveling on the second. A marriage fraying with distrust on the third. Each crisis seems distinct until the years pass and the connections surface.
Moretti adapts Israeli novelist Eshkol Nevo's book with an unhurried structure that jumps forward in time between scenes, letting consequences settle rather than dramatizing them. Margherita Buy, Riccardo Scamarcio, and Alba Rohrwacher lead the ensemble; Moretti himself takes a role. At 119 minutes it asks for patience, and it rewards it.
