Synopsis
I Am Dina (2002) is a Scandinavian period drama you can watch online on iFILM — directed by Ole Bornedal and adapted from Herbjørg Wassmo's acclaimed Norwegian novel. In 1860s northern Norway, a young girl named Dina accidentally causes her mother's death. Her father can't look at her after that day.
She grows up half-wild, cared for by servants, with no anchor but her own stubbornness. Jacob — a family friend decades her senior — falls for her anyway and pushes through the town's disapproval to marry her. Maria Bonnevie plays Dina with coiled intensity; the cast also includes Gérard Depardieu, Christopher Eccleston, and Mads Mikkelsen.
