Damnation Alley
You have seen great adventures. You are about to live one.
Synopsis
Damnation Alley (1977) is a post-apocalyptic sci-fi adventure you can watch online on iFILM. World War III has come and gone, the nuclear blasts have knocked the planet off its axis, and freak tornadoes, floods and dust storms now scour what's left of the Earth.
Five years on, a small group of survivors holed up at a desert military base picks up a faint radio signal from Albany, proof that someone out there is still alive. To reach it, they pile into the Landmaster, an armored twelve-wheeled rig built to outlast the weather, and roll out across a dead America crawling with mutated giant scorpions and swarms of flesh-eating cockroaches. George Peppard and Jan-Michael Vincent lead the crew, with Jack Smight directing.
Adapted from Roger Zelazny's novel, it now plays like a charming relic of the seventies: the effects are clunky, the pacing wanders, but the road-survival spirit holds. Fans of vintage sci-fi, and of the wasteland mood Mad Max would later perfect, will find plenty to enjoy. Stream Damnation Alley (1977) online on iFILM.
