Synopsis
"Ike: Countdown to D-Day" (2004) is a TV war drama you can watch online on iFILM. Director Robert Harmon tracks ninety tightly compressed days in General Dwight D. Eisenhower's life — from the moment he took command of Allied forces in Europe to the morning the landing craft hit the beaches on June 6, 1944. Tom Selleck plays Ike not as a symbol but as a man under sustained, near-unbearable pressure.
The film stays in the command rooms. Eisenhower fields Churchill's demands, rewrites landing schedules around Channel weather, and carries the knowledge that a miscalculation means thousands die for nothing. James Remar and Gerald McRaney fill out the senior staff without turning the picture into a pageant. Anyone drawn to the decision-making side of military history, rather than the combat, will find this more rewarding than a conventional war film. Stream "Ike: Countdown to D-Day" (2004) on iFILM.
