Highwaymen

Highwaymen (2004) is a lean road thriller you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Robert Harmon — whose earlier Hitcher made the highway an instrument of dread — and starring James Caviezel and Rhona Mitra.

Rennie Cray spent years tracking the man who killed his wife in a deliberate hit-and-run. The killer, Fargo (Colm Feore), is now partially disabled from a previous encounter — but that hasn't stopped him. He rebuilt a battered 1972 Cadillac Eldorado into something between a vehicle and a weapon, and keeps hunting. When Rennie spots a young woman (Mitra) who's caught Fargo's attention, the two converge on the same stretch of highway, and Rennie gets one more shot at finishing it.

At 80 minutes the film doesn't waste time. Harmon keeps the tension mechanical — steel, speed and pavement rather than elaborate set pieces — and Feore's immobile, almost non-verbal antagonist is genuinely unsettling.
