Synopsis
Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century (1999) is a Disney Channel original movie you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Kenneth Johnson, it follows thirteen-year-old Zenon Kar — a kid who has grown up on an orbiting space station in the year 2049, where Earth is something you look at through a porthole. Kirsten Storms plays Zenon, with a young Raven-Symoné alongside her.
After getting into trouble one time too many, Zenon is sent down to the planet she only knows from lessons. Everything is strange: weather, grass, school hallways, gravity behaving normally. But while she's busy adjusting, she stumbles onto evidence that her home station is in serious danger — and getting back to fix it won't be easy from the surface.
Cheerful, inventive and completely earnest about its premise, the film was a touchstone for a generation of Disney Channel kids in the late nineties. It still holds up as a fun family watch — the tagline called her "one galactic girl who saves the day in a stellar way," and the film delivers exactly that.
