Synopsis
Mr. Klein (1976) is Joseph Losey's unsettling Franco-Italian thriller, starring Alain Delon — watch it online on iFILM. Paris, 1942. Art dealer Robert Klein turns a comfortable profit buying paintings from desperate Jewish families under the Nazi occupation. Then a Jewish-targeted newspaper arrives at his door, addressed to one Robert Klein — a name that is not his, yet somehow is.
What starts as a bureaucratic nuisance spirals into something darker. The Vichy police notice the match, and Klein finds himself chasing a doppelgänger through the occupied city, trying to prove he is not a man he has never met. Jeanne Moreau and Michael Lonsdale appear in supporting roles that add shading to the film's cold atmosphere.
Losey turns the thriller mechanics into a study in culpability: Klein spent years profiting from the persecuted, and now the machinery he ignored has turned on him. Delon carries it with controlled unease — watch for the moment the confidence leaves his face for good. Stream Mr. Klein (1976) online on iFILM.
