Synopsis
American Carnage (2022) is a horror-thriller with a satirical edge, directed by Diego Hallivis — watch it online on iFILM. A state governor orders police to round up and detain the children of undocumented immigrants, US-born or not. JP, just turned eighteen, takes a deal: volunteer at an elder care facility and he can walk free and help his mother.
Jorge Lendeborg Jr. and Jenna Ortega play two of the detained youths who arrive at the facility and almost immediately sense something wrong. The staff smile too much. The residents act strangely. The management is working hard to keep the group from asking the obvious questions.
What starts as pointed political allegory pivots into full body-horror territory — the shift is the point, and the film commits to it. Uneven in places, but genuinely unpredictable. Stream American Carnage (2022) on iFILM.
