Goldstone

Goldstone (2016) is an Australian crime thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Indigenous detective Jay Swan rolls into a sun-blasted mining settlement on the desert's edge to trace a missing girl. The job looks routine right up until a young local cop pulls Swan over for drinking behind the wheel — and promptly tips off the town's crooked mayor that a stranger has arrived.

The longer Swan picks at the quiet outpost, the wider the cracks spread: human trafficking, dirty gold money, and pressure on Aboriginal land all feed into one scheme. To untangle any of it, he has to set aside his grudge with Josh, that same young officer, and work the case as a pair. Writer-director Ivan Sen also shot and scored the film, and his vast frames of red Australian dirt aren't backdrop so much as a character in their own right.
