Synopsis

Mortal Thoughts (1991) is an American crime thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Director Alan Rudolph frames the whole film as a police interview: Cynthia Kellogg (Demi Moore) sits across from detective Harvey Keitel and accounts for what she knows about the death of James Urbanksi — her best friend Joyce's violently abusive husband, played by Bruce Willis in a role that scrubs away every trace of his usual charm.

James turned up with his throat cut. The question isn't whether anyone wanted him dead — he made sure of that — but who actually did it, and what exactly Cynthia is hiding. The script by Claude Kerven and William Reilly keeps rewinding and adjusting the story as new details surface, which is exactly the kind of construction that makes a whodunit work.

The film lives or dies on its two leads, and Demi Moore and Glenn Headly deliver: their friendship, built over years of shared secrets and one terrible night, holds the 104 minutes together tighter than any twist. Stream Mortal Thoughts (1991) online on iFILM.
