Synopsis
Right Now, Wrong Then (2015) from Korean director Hong Sang-soo is available to watch online on iFILM. Filmmaker Ham Chunsu shows up in Suwon a day early and, with nothing to do, strikes up a conversation with a young painter.
They wander a restored palace, visit her studio, share dinner and soju with her friends — an ordinary evening between two near-strangers. Then the film simply starts over. Same day, same lines, same cafés, but this time Chunsu behaves differently: more honest, more awkward, minus the easy charm. And the night turns out completely different. Jung Jae-young and Kim Min-hee play both versions of the encounter.
Hong works with almost no plot — just talk, uncomfortable pauses, and the occasional sudden zoom onto a face. The film took the Golden Leopard at Locarno. It's for anyone who loves slow cinema about how a single change in tone can reshape a whole day. Stream Right Now, Wrong Then (2015) online on iFILM.
