Hill of Freedom

Hill of Freedom (2014) is a 66-minute Korean drama by Hong Sang-soo, available to watch online on iFILM. A Japanese man named Mori travels to Seoul to propose to a woman named Kwon. She's not there. He leaves a bundle of letters and departs.

When Kwon returns, she drops the envelope — the letters scatter across the floor, out of order. She reads them that way, piecing together a love story from the wrong end. Hong Sang-soo builds an entire film out of that disorder: small Seoul cafés, unhurried conversations, and the gap between what letters say and what they mean.
