Mystery Road

Aaron Pedersen carries the film almost entirely on his own, playing a man caught between two worlds and trusted by neither. Hugo Weaving and Jack Thompson orbit the investigation, each with something to hide. Director Ivan Sen shoots the red-dirt Outback with the stillness of a painting — vast open country where everything is visible and nothing gets explained.
