Synopsis
Escape from Raqqa (Exfiltrés, 2019) is a French political thriller directed by Emmanuel Hamon — watch it online on iFILM. Paris, spring 2015. Faustine travels to Syria with her young son, drawn in by ISIS propaganda. Once she reaches Raqqa, the ideology meets its reality.
Her husband Sylvain grasps quickly that official channels are useless. He pulls in two young activists, Gabriel and Adnan, and starts mapping a clandestine extraction route — through checkpoints, informants and shifting front lines. Swann Arlaud and Finnegan Oldfield carry the tension as men improvising an escape plan with borrowed phones and borrowed time.
The script draws on journalist Samuel Laurent's reported account of real exfiltration operations run out of France. It keeps everything at street level: no satellite command centers, no spy-thriller gloss — just the grinding logistics of moving people out of a city controlled by a caliphate.
