Synopsis
Death of a Cyclist (Muerte de un ciclista, 1955) is a Spanish-Italian crime drama you can watch online on iFILM. On an empty country road, a car hits a cyclist. Circling the edges is Rafa, a smiling society cynic who seems to know something and enjoys watching others sweat. Lucia Bosè plays a woman who picks status over conscience, and she never hits a false note.
Director Juan Antonio Bardem made more than an adultery thriller — it's a cold-eyed portrait of Franco-era Spanish privilege, and it took the FIPRESCI critics' prize at Cannes.
